Research

1. Quantum cryptography communication: The security of quantum cryptography is guaranteed by the basic law of quantum mechanics. Quantum cryptography can theoretically provide high level security. I am interested in investigating the new continuous variable quantum cryptography protocols and implementing practical systems using modern optical fiber communication technologies.
2. Quantum clock synchronization: My research interests focus on improving the precision of clock synchronization by using quantum mechanics, and investigating its applications in quantum ranging systems and quantum positioning systems.
3. Nonlinear photonic crystal and quantum entanglement: Nonlinear photonic crystal has a 2D or 3D quasi-period nonlinear susceptibility, and a linear susceptibility is constant in space. The multiple optical parametric processes (such as OPO or OPA) could be simultaneously phase matched by elaborately designing the domain structure of nonlinear photonic crystal. Then multi-mode quantum entanglement (including cluster states and graph states) could be prepared using nonlinear photonic crystal technologies. Then we could investigate quantum information processing and quantum network based on continuous variable graph states.
