Image processing and machine vision, Intelligentrobot, and complex mechatronic systems.
Education
Zhao received the B.Sc. degree in automatic engineering from Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Xi’an, China, in 1982, and the D.Sc. degree in systems science from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1988.
Work experience
He worked in the Institute of UFJ in Japan as a researcher in 1988, and accepted a position as an engineer in the Economic Policy Institute of Ministry of Mechanical and Electrical of China in 1989. He worked as associate professor in the Institute of System Engineering of Norhtern Jiaotong University in 1991. He joined the faculty in the Robotics Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a professor in 2001, and he is currently a professor in the Department of Automation.
Research
Biped Walking Chair Robot , Book Reading Robot, Verticality Measuring Robot for Elevator Guide Rail, Image Quality Assessment, and 3D Reconstruction.
