[Consulate in Lyon, France]The Second Sino-France Education Forum Opend in INSA Lyon

On July 11, the opening ceremony of the second Sino-France Education Forum and summer session themed "the Innovation Prospects of European Engineering Technology" was jointly held by National Institute of Applied Science, Lyon (INSA Lyon, for short) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Consul General Yin Lixian, the president of INSA Lyon Eric Maurincomme and the vice dean of the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering (SEIEE) of SJTU Professor Yang Genke were present and delivered their respective speeches.


INSA President Moran Comcast and SEIEE vice-dean Yang Genke expressed in the speeches their satisfaction with the results of higher-education cooperation between the two universities in recent years, and they hoped, by way of this Education Forum, the two sides could understand each other’s education system in a deeper way and could continuously expand the cooperation in talents cultivation, especially that for high-tech talents.

In the speech, Consul General Yin spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Lyon INSA and SJTU, and said that China is in need of a large amount of high-quality talents in the field of engineering technology to provide a strong support for human resources who can contribute to the construction of an innovative nation. The joint holding of Education Forum by Lyon INSA and SJTU has important realistic significance of effectively promoting two-sided cooperation in higher education and especially in the joint cultivation of outstanding engineers, and of contributing to a win-win, friendly and cooperative Sino- France relationship.

Before the opening ceremony, Consul General Yin and President Moran had held a friendly meeting conversing about some cooperation issues between Lyon INSA and Chinese institutions.
