China Leaders for Global Operations (CLGO) 2011Master of Engineering (ME) graduation ceremony was smoothly held on May15^th. More than 30 graduates were granted ME diplomas of Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) and MIT Certificate of Leaders for Global Operations (LGO).

Professor Xu Fei as Deputy Secretary of SJTU CPC Committee, Professor David Simchi-Levi and Professor Donald Rosenfield from MIT, and Dell Global Sourcing Director Kieth Miears on behalf of cooperative enterprises in the CLGO Program, made their respective speeches in the ceremony. Professor Jiang Zuhua as Director of ME Education Center of Machine and Power Engineering Department, Associate Professor Li Ping as Dean Assistant of SEIEE, and Dean Zhou Lin of Antai College of Economics and Management attended the ceremony and granted the degree’s diplomas to graduates. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Du Chaohui, Executive Vice Dean of SJTU Graduate School.

49% of CLGO 2011graduates have been successfully associated with the Program’s cooperative enterprises such as Apple, Amazon, Caterpillar, Cisco, Dell, Honeywell, Intel, Novartis and United Technologies, working in lines of supply chain, global sourcing, product development, lean production, project management, marketing etc.

CLGO Brief:

China Leaders for Global Operations (CLGO) is China’s first full-time, interdisciplinary dual-degree, graduate-level academic program. This dual-degree (MBA and ME) program, with MIT’s authorization, is co-started by three SJTU schools: Antai College of Economics and Management, School of Machine and Power Engineering and School of Electric Engineering and Electronic Engineering. Modeled after the MIT well-known Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) program, CLGO, on the one hand, wins the support of both national and international enterprises (Dell, Honeywell, Intel, Novartis, Amazon, Apple, Cisco, China LongGong, for instance), and on the other hand, takes SJTU’s disciplinary advantages in fields of engineering and management. With such a combination of theory and practice in engineering management, CLGO makes every effort to cultivate outstanding leaders with talents in manufacturing and operations
