Academic Reports or Academic Seminar(学术报告会)is a mandatory course in training plan for all students. It requires students to finish taking several times of lectures during some time, and submit some kinds of reports to get the final grade. Please check more detailed requirements in the following forms.

 

Department of Electrical Engineering

Course Number

S031501 for Master students,  S031701 for Ph.D. students

Requirements

1.       Put the course in 2nd semester when making study plan.

2.       From the suggested lecture sources, select and attend 12 lectures in first and second semester

3.       For each lecture, write more than 800 words of review in the provided form

4.       Submit 12 reports in printed forms to Ms. WANG Yanyan before the end of 2nd semester

5.       Student could only take at most 1/3 of lectures from public lectures held by SJTU

Requirements

Option 1:

1.       From the suggested lecture sources, select and attend 8 lectures with its topic related to students research field in first and second semesters

2.       Fill the provided form with lecture title, time, location, and ask each lecture’s organizer to sign

3.       Submit the finished form to department academic coordinator Ms. CUI Ping before the end of 2nd semester

Option 2:

1.       Student need to wait for Ms. CUI Ping’s email about more details and then contact Prof. WANG Hesheng to register for this option in the beginning of fall semester.  

2.       For this option, lectures are delivered by American guest speakers in fall semester only, and students are obligated to attend all of them.

Requirements

 1.  1.     Select and attend 6 lectures held by the SEIEE before the Intermediate Assessment on the 3rd semester among the recommended lecture sources.

2.       Fill in the given form with the details of the lectures including the  title, the time and the venue. Ask the organizer to confirm after each lecture.

Students can choose the lectures they are interested in, but they must be organized by the SEIEE.

Grading Regulation

Students would get A if they finish 6 lectures in time. Students could not graduate if they do not finish 6 lectures

Requirements

1.       This course is comprised of two parts: English writing class (one credit) and 10 lectures (one credit).

2.       Part 1: English writing class which is usually in the spring semester. Students need to wait for the department notification about the exact time and venue. Students need to get B or above grades to pass this part. Otherwise they need to retake it.

3.       Part 2: 10 lectures and 10 reports related to the PhD research interests.

a.       Finish 5 lectures before the Dissertation Proposal

b.      Fill in  the given form with the details of the lectures including the title,  the time and the venue. In addition, write a report after each lecture. The report needs to be more than 1500 words.

c.       The form should be signed by the supervisor. Submit the form and the five reports to the department academic coordinator Ms. LI Shuyi.

d.      Student could not go on the Dissertation Proposal without the above materials

e.      Finish the remaining five lectures before the Dissertation Intermediate Assessment with the same requirement.

Requirements

1.       Master student 8 times and PhD student 6 times in 1st and 2nd semesters.

2.        In 1st semester (fall semester), Electronic Engineering Department would hold four times of academic lectures. The time and location details would be delivered by Department academic coordinator Ms. Jiang Hong

3.       For the rest lectures, student could attend any lecture held inside SJTU campus, but all the selected lectures need to be related to students own research filed

4.       When attending lectures, ask organizers to sign, and submit the final form to teacher Li Lili (Office: SEIEE 1-433)

Requirements

Ph.D. student:

Lectures would be organized by department, and delivered in 1st semester’s Week 9-16 Wednesday afternoon regularly. Check exact time and location in class timetable in the Graduate Student Education Platform. Students would be required to sign their names during each lecture to validate attendance.

Master student:

1.       Option 1

From the suggested lecture sources, select and attend lectures organized by department in whole 2nd semester and in week 1-8 of 3rd semester. Those lectures would be organized irregularly. 

2.       Option 2

Series of lectures would be organized by department, and delivered in 3rd semester’s Week 9-16 Wednesday afternoon regularly. Check exact time and location in class time table in the Graduate Student Education Platform. Students would be required to sign their names during each lecture to validate attendance.

Grading Regulation

Students are required to take 7 times of lectures to get basic points, and would get higher score with more times of lectures

Requirements

1.       Student take several times of academic lectures held by School of Information Security and 3 times of public lectures held by SJTU Master Forum in first and second semester

2.       School of Information Security would hold academic lectures irregularly, and the notification would be sent out by academic coordinator Ms. LU Jin. Students would be required to sign their names during each lecture to validate attendance.

3.       Students are obligated to attend 3 times or more lectures from SJTU Master Forum. Student must register and sign their name through SJTU Master Forum platform so that the name list would be sent to academic coordinator in the end of each semester
