课程内容简介(Course Introduction):

1)      Formulations of Maxwell Equations

2)      The behavior of EM fields/wave in typical media 

3)      EM wave transmission, reflection, deflection, refraction and scattering

4)      Excitation of EM fields/waves

5)      Principles of antennas

教学大纲(Course Teaching Outline):

1)      Introduction to physical quantities and analysis tools that are used to describe electromagnetic (EM) phenomena

2)      Fundamental principles of EM fields and EM waves

3)      Explain the behaviors of EM fields/waves in typical media: homogenous/ inhomogeneous media; isotropic/anisotropic media; layered media; media with periodic structures, including EM wave transmission, reflection, deflection, refraction

4)      EM scattering on PEC surfaces, penetrable media

5)      Determine the EM fields/waves excited by typical EM sources: moving electrons, current distributions

6)      To understand the principles of sending/receiving EM waves through antennas

7)      Introduction to typical formulations of integral equations for scattering problems
