Research

Prof. Chen is the principal investigator of 12 projects including 3 granted by NSF of China. She was also the co-investigator of 10 projects.
In the area of control and systems, Dr. Chen proposed a novel double-criterion premise rule for fuzzy model to represent complex nonlinear systems with time delays. It is recognized as the first stabilization result for delay-dependent nonlinear time-delay systems based on T-S fuzzy model. The proposed “Piecewise-Fuzzy” Partition Method is highly cited by researchers. She also designed the high-gain controller and applied semi-global stability analysis to reject non-harmonic disturbances successfully.
In the area of wireless networks, Dr. Chen presented some important results on stability analysis, distributed estimation, routing protocol design, capacity analysis for wireless sensor and actor networks, VANETs and industrial wireless networks.
Three supportive testbeds and platforms are constructed for evaluation and potential application research.
