SEIEE held the 2013 session of the undergraduate class Council meeting on June 13, 2013, in the room 3-208 smoothly. Institute Party committee secretary Su Yuezeng, deputy secretary Yang Yifan, Student Employment Office director Ren Linling, students' comprehensive Affairs Office Li Jinxiang, internationalization and Alumni Liaison Office Director Rui Shi, alumni liaisons Tian Lin, 2013 session of the Undergraduate Ideological teacher Song Xuming, Tian Yimeng, and all of 2013 undergraduate class directors attended the meeting.

This meeting is the first meeting that 2013 undergraduate class 35 members gathered. At the beginning, 35 members made a brief self-introduction, including graduation whereabouts and their understandings of class directors. Liu Weiyin, class 16 director, who will work in bank technical departments after graduating ,thought that the class director is the "new squad leader after graduation ",which is an important bridge connecting classmates. Li Yuncheng, a graduate recommended for SJTU admission , the class23 director, said the class director plays a role similar to a router, as in the node on classmates to provide intelligent communication platform based on the exchange, but also bear the responsibility for liaison with the school class .

Subsequently, Yang Yifan, deputy party secretary made a general introduction about the whereabouts of 2013 undergraduate. It is understood that the current domestic studies graduates, domestic work and the proportion of working abroad were approximately 34.2%, 35.5% and 30.3%. Yang called on everyone further attention, "Chiao Tung University's Graduate School", "red positive energy" microblogging and other official public account so that after graduation students can keep abreast of schools, colleges, the latest news.

Internationalization and Alumni Liaison Office Lin Tian gave an introduction to all directors about alumni work status, rights and obligations of class director. Lin Tian said that the role of class director is to better serve the alumni，to strengthen the tiles between Alma Mater and alumni, and to enhance the cohesion between alumni. The class director is mainly responsible for communicating with classmates, informing alumni of the latest news about Alma Mater, reflecting suggestions about Alma Mater from alumni and organizing activities for alumni regularly or irregularly. A class director, deserves the privilege of free alumni publications like “Siyuan”、“SJTU Alumni Month End Version”, and he or she is free to borrow Xuhui Campus Alumni room.

A representative of directors , Minhua Lin coming from Class 27, proposed that class director needs to maintain relationships among classmates. As the only girl in 35 directors, Minhua Li said happily that she has great confidence in build emotional exchange bridge for classmates. Another representative, Si Chen said that alumni resources is great treasure of life. As he experienced an alumni back-to-school activity, he felt deeply that a sense of identity for Alma Mater will grow as the times goes. The class director is expected to take the lead to create the alumni culture.

Institute Party committee secretary Su Yuezeng pointed out in suggestions for institute alumni work that, a class director should take advantage of resources, make emphasis on self-sacrifice, and disseminate a mutual concept—“mutual support, common development”. He said that, talent training at campus is sustainable and social impact of alumni is a key factor to improve Alma Mater competitiveness. Only to improve the competitiveness of Alma Mater, alumni will have a stronger sense of belonging.

The seminar is held successfully with a photo of all leaders, class directors and teachers. Zhixing Xu from Class 35 said to the reporter that, he changed roles from student to alumni and regarded the class director system as a good one to serve all alumni and foster alumni culture called “Alumni share honor and disgrace with Alma Mater”.
