Professor Li Shaoyuan elected as Vice Chairman of CAA

The 10th National Convention of Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) was recently held in Beijing, China last December 27-28, 2013. Professor Li Shaoyuan from SEIEE Shanghai Jiaotong University and currently the president of the Shanghai Association of Automation and deputy director of Technical Committee on Control Theory, China Association of Automation, was designated Vice Chairman for a 5-year tenure.  Also elected were Professor Guan Xinping as permanent member and Professor Su Jianbo together with Wang Xiaofan as members of the association.

 

CAA is the earliest established mass organization at the national academic level engaged in automation, technology research, training, development and production. Also, it was formed by Individuals and groups as well as part of The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). It was registered legally and established with academic, public, and scientific characteristics. Also, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology component on the development of the science and technology of automation has become an important social force with the CAA establishing several awards such as the Yang Jiachi Technology Award, CAA Science and Technology Award and Honored Scholar Award to push forward the development of the automation industry.

 

CAA truly plays an important role on the growth of automation technology as it focuses on subject development and national demand. With the new council members of CAA, this drive shall be stronger through the offering of related subjects at Shanghai Jiaotong University.
