Professor Su Jianbo Wins IEEE Best Associate Editor Award

Professor Su Jianbo of SEIEE Shanghai Jiao Tong University has won the IEEE Best Associate Editor Award issued by IEEE System Man and Cybernetics. The award was given for his encouraging and outstanding effort in maintaining and promoting the academic level and influence for the journal.

 

 

The Best Associate Editor Award of IEEE SMC Session was selected from 103 scholars from 32 countries and regions. By studying the quote rate, academic influence, articles dealt timely, special issues leading the academic direction and the sensitivity of forming academic points recommended by AE among others, the Best Associate Editor Award must first to be recommended by the previous chief editors and then nominated by current editors and finally voted on by the AdCom Committee of IEEE SMC Session.

         

Professor Su Jianbo started as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics since 2005 and was the lone editorial board member from Mainland China.  He has worked with four Editor-in-Chiefs and acknowledged accordingly on relevant articles as objective and fair. Meanwhile, the articles recommended by him played an importance in promoting the journal’s academic influence. SCI Paper Influence Index increased from 1.108 at the beginning of 2005 to as high as 3.781 at present. Former Editor-in-Chief and IEEE Fellow, Chair Professor Diane J. Cook from the School of Electronic Engineer and Computer Science of Washington State University once praised, “…with the selection of special issue topics and directions for the transactions, Jianbo’s comments are always insightful and on the mark. …. Jianbo’s turnaround time is shorter than average which has been valuable in raising the impact factor for the transactions.  He has been a valuable asset for the transactions and for IEEE. ”

         

Su Jianbo also held the post of AE of Inter. Journal of Humanoid Robotics and two other journals. 2014 was General Chair of Tenth Inter. Conf. on Intelligent Environment and sponsored by IEEE.
