“The Belt and Road” Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing Master Program

Shanghai Jiao Tong University

“The Belt and Road” Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing Program

Master of Engineering for International Students

Training Plan

1. Program Introduction

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), as one of the higher education institutions which enjoy a long history and a world-renowned reputation in China, is now a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized top university in China. School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering (SEIEE), as the largest engineering institute in SJTU, owns abundant resources of more than 700 faculty and staff, and more than 8,000 students.

SJTU “The Belt and Road” (B&R) Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing Program, aiming at serving China “B&R” cooperative development strategy, cradled by two national top and internationally prominent first disciplines “Electronic Science and Technology” and “Information and Communication”, is a program for master of engineering in the school of Electronics, Information and Electrical Engineering (SEIEE).

Supported by “Beidou Navigation and Location Service Shanghai Key Laboratory”, and “Intelligent Detection Shanghai University Key Laboratory”, the program would be managed by the Academy of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering(AITEE), and cooperate with industry in national satellite navigation and remote sensing fields.

2. Program Mission

Under the policy of “ The Belt and Road”, and facing the demands from national economic construction and talents needs for social environment development, the program cultivates high level talents with comprehensive qualities, practical capability and innovative engineering capability in the field of satellite navigation and remote sensing information technology.

The degree receipts shall master basic theory and professional knowledge of navigation and remote sensing, with strong abilities into practical operation and engineering design, thus been equipped with capability to propose and realize feasible plan on navigation and remoting sensing.

It requires the students to possess innovative ideology and engineering management ability, while always following the development of navigation and remote sensing information technology.

3. Enrollment Scale

This program recruits non-Chinese citizens with bachelor degree or equivalent degree certificates.

Normally 40-50 students for one year.

4. Tuition and Studying Length

Studying Length: Generally two years, 3.5 years as the maximum

Tuition: RMB 80,000 for whole program

5. Curriculum Requirement

Generally all the courses need to be completed in first year.
