2:00 pm on March 27, 2013, SEIEE Building 3, No. 200 lecture hall ushered in the Third Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security(CECT Division 3) Director &Professor Hu Chuanping and his colleagues .Adjunct Professor Appointment Ceremony for Dr. Hu Chuanping was held under the auspices of vice president Yang Xiaokang,. Dean MAO Junfa personally issued Dr. Hu a letter of appointment and wore him Jiaotong University Logo. Subsequently, Professor Hu Chuanping brought electric faculty and students a wonderful lecture and lively discussions about public safety applications of Things technology and video structured description technology.

           At his speech, Professor Hu Chuanping introduced the development of the Internet of Things technology and its application in the public safety industry. Also, he told us the remarkable success Division 3 have got in eID (network authentication), RFID (radio frequency identification), VSD (Video structured description), PDD (police digitize-man) and other fields as well as the connotation and the main application of VSD technology. After answering the questions from Professor Zheng Shibao and so on, Professor Hu Chuanping prospected the Internet of Things technology applications in different industry and hoped the quality of training of the students from the user's point of view.                

The former vice president, Director of Institute of Image Communication and Network Engineering (CECT Institute of Image) Professor Zhang Wenjun, SEIEE Dean Professor Yang Xiaokang, Head of electronic engineering Professor Liu Xingzhao receipted Hu Suochang and his colleagues before the speech. After the speech Professor Hu Chuanping and his colleagues came to Institute of Image Communication and Network Engineering and conducted in-depth exchanges. Professor Zheng Shibao, Professor Gao Zhiyong and Associate Professor Zhang Chongyang participated in the exchange activities. Graduate students from Institute of Image,Institute of  Wireless and other institutes, totally dozens of people also took part in the exchange.

Professor Hu Chuanping now is the director of  the Third Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security,  a researcher, and an adjunct professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University. He has been engaged in public security research for more than thirty years .In addition, he has long been engaged in the Police Equipment, information network security and public security things in the field of high-tech, cutting-edge technology research and has achieved a number of original results in special robots, flexible control system, video structural description technology which resulted significantly both in engineering and real application .He has got the second prize of state scientific and technological progress twice. He has won the honorary title of “National Public Security Technology Advanced Individual "," Shanghai Excellent research institute director prize "," National Excellent science and technology workers ".He gained the special allowance of the State Council and was selected into the national expert group of experts in the field of" 863 "in 2012. He was recommended by the Ministry of Public Security as a valid candidate of the Chinese Academy of Engineering twice in 2003 and 2011.
