On the afternoon of November 7, 2013, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering held a conference about cultivating outstanding doctoral dissertation in SEIEE Buildings 3-208. SEIEE Party Secretary Su Yuezeng, deputy director of Graduate degree Office Fan Lin, deputy directors of each department, part of the tutor representatives and nominee of national Excellent Doctoral attended the meeting, the meeting is chaired by Vice President Yang Xiaokang.

Party Secretary Su Yuezeng introduced to the participants the plan on developing outstanding doctor training under the background of SEIEE reform. Su Yuezeng hopes doctors concentrate on academic research , combine the personal development with the future development of  SEIEE, SEIEE will also provide funding and guarantee for them, and SEIEE warmly welcome outstanding doctors stay here for further research.

Vice President Yang Xiaokang announced and interpreted the newly established SEIEE Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Cultivation Fund Policy. At the same time, he also described the implementation plans of outstanding doctoral graduates as overseas postdoctoral teacher. He emphasized, SJTU and SEIEE pay much attention on outstanding doctors cultivation, he hopes every doctoral student make great efforts on research for a great achievement, and lay a solid foundation for the application of Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation.

On behalf of Graduate School, Fan Lin approved SEIEE setting up Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Cultivation Funds. She said, the funds from school and college will promote the excellent doctoral students to scientific research, our university will also provide strong support for outstanding doctor cultivation.

2008 National Excellent Doctor professor Shen Hongbin, 2010 National Excellent associate Doctor Yi Lilin, 2012 National Excellent Doctor associate professor Zhai Guangtao shared their experience of research and Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation application. The participants carried out a heated discussion about problems faced in scientific research, Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Funds application, outstanding doctoral graduates as overseas postdoctoral teacher, the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation declaration and other issues.

In order to further improve the quality of doctoral students and intensify efforts on Outstanding Doctor cultivation, SEIEE held the meeting. There were more than 40 people attending the meeting, including Academic Award winners, Outstanding Doctor Cultivation Funds winners, National Scholarship winners of doctoral students, teachers of Graduate Office and Office of Human Resources.
