SEIEE Holds Faculty Members’ Meeting and Planning

SEIEE held a faculty members’ annual meeting at the Lecture Hall of the MicroElectronics Building. Hosted by Su Yuezeng, and Mao Junfa, President of SEIEE, together with Party Secretary Su Yuezeng, a presentation of the summary of highlights for 2013 and planning for 2014 was expressed as the meeting agenda.

 

 

Focusing on the school’s mission, Mao Junfa recalled that in 2013, the highlights included the deepening of electronic reforms, building of disciplines and faculty teams, cultivating the teaching staff and students’ talents, constructing scientific research and base, forming organizations and defining culture to name a few.  At the same time, he also mentioned the future plans for 2014. Considering all the members’ efforts from 2013, the school achieved the university’s first prize in undergraduate and graduate professor assessments and second prize in scientific research professor assessment. He also pointed out the resolution of some problems including updating the school and departments’ management system, working on building better teaching staff teams, and the like. In 2014, there should be continuous reform and boost in the appraisal and incentive system in order to motivate all faculty members’ initiatives and creativity to have a breakthrough on every field that will yield quantity influence in the field. Mao Junfa hoped that all faculty members continue to work together and put into effect the abovementioned and strive towards the goal of 2014 to become a world-class school!

 

 

Su Yuezeng thoroughly synthesized that the gap between the school and the world-class universities and pointed out that the way to a breakthrough is to crack the bottleneck we currently face. Su mentioned that the school needs to be open to more opportunities, reform the human resource management system and improve talents’ enrollment, assessment, and turnover among others. We should have a workplace that attracts, motivates and keeps the talents for good. We must also persist in opening leads for development, respond to the nation and area’s demands and turn to our advantage the desired effects. Global scientific research cooperation, technological innovation, and overseas student program should make a new breakthrough with broad views and quick action in order to promote the academy. He stressed that plans do not work without actions. He hoped that all faculty members could share in the faith and mission with a high spirit and innovatively contribute to the overall school development.
